Chingri macher malai curry
Welcome to Cook with Sonali. Today I am going to make chingri macher malai curry. It is famous and popular recipe for Bengali occasion. So let’s have a look at the ingredients .
250 gram fresh prawn
1 tbsp of turmeric powder
Salt to taste
4 tbsp of mustard oil
1 big shredded onion
1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste
1 tbsp of cumin powder
1 tbsp of garam masala
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 cup of coconut milk
2tbsp of cream
Cinnamon, cloves, cardamom
4 green chili slit
1 tbsp of sugar (optional)
Ghee 1 tbsp ( optional)
That’s all you need for the chingrimacher malai Kari. So let’s get started with the dish.
At first we add turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt into prawn. Mix it nicely with your hand and keep it aside for about 15 minutes.
Meanwhile heat oil in kadai once the oil is enough hot add onion, little bit salt. Stir it well for couple of minutes. Then add chopped tomato, and ginger garlic paste. Sauté for few minutes until the onion and tomato soft and tender.
Once it done let it cool down completely then I will take it out on mixy bowl, make a soft smooth paste.
Meanwhile heat oil in kadai once the is hot add prawn pieces one by one. Cook it until turns golden brown . Once it one then I will take it out.
Again heat oil in the same kadai add bay leaves, cinnamon, cloves , cardamom stir it well.
Now I am going to add onion paste just mix it well. Add all the spices like cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder garam masala. Mix it well and cook for about 2 minute. Now time to add cashew paste into it
After 2 minutes I will add coconuts milk stir it well then add prawn into it. Cover it and let it cook in low flame for about 8- 10 minutes.
Now add ghee or butter and green chili.
