Garlic Naan

Garlic Naan (Yeast Free)

Welcome to Cook With Sonali .Today I am going to make garlic naan which is yeast free. Basically garlic naan is a North Indian flat bread. I love to make this recipe because my family love it.

So let’s quickly go through the ingredients

2 cups of all purpose flour / maida

1 tbsp of baking powder

1 tbsp of baking soda

Salt to taste

½ cup of yogurt

1 tbsp sugar

Chopped coriander leaves

That’s all you need for the garlic naan. Let’s get started with the dish.

Garlic Naan


I will take a bowl add all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt mix all ingredients nicely. Then add yogurt, and mix all ingredients nicely. Now add little bit water and need to smooth dough. The perfect dough should be soft and sticky to hand.

Now dough is ready. Cover it with a warn cloth and keep it aside for about 2 hours.

After 2 hours you can see the dough has rise up so nicely. Now need to knead the dough until turns smooth.

Sprinkle some all purpose flour on the top of the dough and mix it nicely. Take some all purpose flour in your hand palm divide the dough in small pieces of balls.

Now make it oval shape with rolling pin. Add garlic, coriander leaves on the top of the naan. Roll it slightly with rolling pin.

Turn on gas flame, take a tawa. Once the tawa is hot, add naan into it and cook it for few minutes. When the small bubbles start to appear on the top of the naan then flip it. Once gets slightly golden spot as well then take it out from tawa and put it on direct heat. Keep the flame on medium heat.

Naan is almost ready. Add some butter over it. See garlic naan is ready.
