Mango Phirni recipe
Today I am going to make Mango Phirni. It is a smoothing dessert with milk and rice along with sugar. This is a very simple and quick recipe. Let’s have a look at the ingredients
1 cup of basmati rice or regular rice
2cups of milk
1 cup of sugar
3-4 cardamom pods
Saffron soaked in milk
1 cup of mango purée
Ripe mango chopped
That’s all you need for the mango Phirni. So let’s get started with the dish.
At first soak rice for 1 hour. Now take a mixie bowl add rice and 1/2cup of water. Grind it until coarse paste
Boil milk in a large skillet add cardamom pods in the milk. Once milk starts boiling add rice paste into it . Stir it continuously in the low flame until the layer becomes thick. When rice is cooked, add sugar. Mix it nicely. Oncethe sugar incorporates with the mixture then I will keep some part aside in the refrigerator.
Now time to add mango pulp into the mixture. Stir it well.
Turn off flame. Mango phrini is ready . So let us decorate the dish. The first layer will be mango pieces. Then second layer is plane Phirni. And third layer is again mango phirni.
Now I will garnish with chopped almond basil leaves and saffron.
