Pomfret Fry Recipe

Today I am going to make pomfret fry. So let’s have a look at the ingredients .


  1. Fresh Pomfret fish
  2. 1 tbsp red chilli powder
  3. 2 tbsps lemon juice
  4. 1 tbsp cumin powder
  5. 1 tbsp tandoori masala
  6. 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  7. Onion paste
  8. 2 pc green chillies
  9. coriander leaves paste
  10. 1 tbsp of vinegar
  11. Salt to taste
  12. Oil for frying


At first make some slits on both sides with sharp knife . Then keep it aside. Now take a bowl add lemon juice , red chilli powder , salt . Mix it nicely . Into this mixture add fish and massage it throughly with your hand . Once the massage is complete then keep it aside.

Now take a mixie bowl add green chillies , coriander leaves, ginger garlic paste, cumin powder, tandoori  masala and turmeric powder, little bit salt , lemon juice and some water. Grind it nicely and make a smooth paste . See paste is ready. Now I will take it out on a plate.

Again I will massage the paste  into the  fish . I will pour the paste into the  slits then coat it it nicely . I will do the same things with other fish . Once the fishes are coated nicely then leave it in refrigerator for about 1 hour .


After 1 hour heat oil in fry PAN . Make sure your oil is enough hot. If the oil is not hot enough then the fish will be stuck at bottom . Now add fish into this hot oil. And cook it in medium flame for about 3-4 minutes. Now flip it and cook other part also.


See pomfret fry is ready . Serve with lemon slices.
