Welcome to Cook with Sonali. Today I am going to make a tasty snackrecipe Samosa.
So let’s quickly go through the ingredients.

  1. For the dough we need
  2. 200 grams of all purpose flour
  3. 3-4 tbsps of ghee
  4. Salt to taste

For the filling we need

  1. 4 medium size potatoes(boiled)
  2. 3-4 tbsp of frozen peas
  3. 2-3 tbsp of roasted peanuts
  4. 1 tbsp of ginger paste
  5. 2-3 chopped green chilies
  6. Chopped tomato
  7. 2-3 tbsp of chopped coriander leaves
  8. ½ tbsp of turmeric powder
  9. ½ tbsp of dry mango powder
  10. ½ tbsp of red chilli powder
  11. ½ tbsp of roasted cumin powder
  12. ½ tbsp of garam masala powder
  13. Salt to taste
  14. Oil as needed

That’s all you need to make samosa. So let’s get started with the dish.

Method 

  1. At first we need a bowl add all purpose flour, ghee, (you can add oil also) and salt.
  2. Mix it well with the help of your hand make sure your hand must be clean.
  3. Now add water slowly slowly and knead stiff and tight dough. Cover with lid and keep it aside for about 30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile in a Kadai add 2 tbsp of oil and let it heat. Once the oil is hot then add peanuts and stir it well.
  5. Now add chopped tomatoes, chopped green chilli, ginger paste, turmeric powder, dry mango powder, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder, Garam masala. Sauté for couple of minutes.
  6. Now add boiled potato and boil green peas and salt. Stir it well and cook it in medium flame for about 4-5 Minutes.
  7. Now with the help of a spatula mash the potato little bit.. Add chopped coriander leaves. Mix it well. Potato mixture is ready. Now take it out on a plate and let it cool down completely.
  8. After 30 minutes open the lid and take some portions of dough and make a ball. Now roll it out with the rolling pin and make anovalshape. Now cut into two equal parts with the help of a knife.
  9. Now take a part add little bit water off the edge and make a shape of cone. Fill the cone with potato mixture. Now apply some more water all over the edges.
  10. Now make a fold in the rear ends of the top of the edge then press it gently. like wise I will make all the samosa.
  11. Now see all the samosas are ready. I will go for the deep fry.
  12. Heat sufficient oil in Kadai. The oil should not be too hot nor to cold.
  13. Now place the samosa into hot oil and cook it in medium flame until it turns golden brown. Now flip it and cook other parts also.
  14. Once both the sides turn golden brown then take it out on a paper towel so all excess oil is soaked up.
  15. Now see samosa is ready. Serve it hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
