Soya Chunks Pulao

Welcome to Cook with Sonali. Today I am going to make Soya Chunks Pulao. Soya chunks or soya bean both are the same. It has protein content equals to that of meat. It reduces bad cholesterol and increases good cholesterol levels in your body. Its quick and also easy to cook. You can prepare many dishes of soya chunks.
So let’s quickly go through the ingredients

• 1 cup of basmati rice
• 1 small bowl of soya chunks
• Chopped onion
• Chopped green chili
• Chopped coriander leaves
• 2 tbsps of onion paste
• 2 tbsps of tomato paste
• 2 tbsps ginger garlic paste
• 4 tbsp of Yogurt
• 1 tbsp of turmeric powder
• ½ tbsp of red chilli powder
• ½ tbsp garam masala
• ½ tbsp cumin seeds
• Cinnamon, cloves, cardamom
• Bay leaves
• Salt to taste
• 2 tbsp oil
• 1 tbsp ghee

That’s all you need for the Soya Chunks Pulao. So let’s get started with the dish.

Soak the basmati rice in warm water, which I already did.
Now boil water in a bowl add salt, then add soya and cook it in medium flame for about 10 -12 minutes. Once the soya is cooked and is almost double in size then drain the excess water and rinse it with water to remove raw smells.

Boil water add rice into it and let it boil for 5-6 minutes until 80% done then strain it.

Heat the oil or ghee in a presser cooker. Once it is hot I will add bay leaves, Cinnamon, cloves, cardamom stir it well. Now I will add slice onion and stir the fry until it turns golden brown.

Once onion turns golden brown then I will add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and chopped tomato then stir it well. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until tomato became soft. Now I will add soya chunks into it and mix it well. Cook for another couple of minutes then add curd, mix it nicely. Now it is time to add 1 cup of water and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Add garam masala, mix it well then add rice into it. Now cover with lid and cook it in low flame for about 8-10 minutes. After 10 minutes open the lid and add some chopped coriander leaves, and 1 tbsp ghee. Just mix this gently.
